The Medical Assistant will provide excellent customer service and clinical back office support to a physician, assist physician with procedures and examinations, provide patient education and give instructions to patients as instructed by the physician.
  • Collection, verification and analyzes complex client data, organization and reporting requirements for client payers/funders,
  • Input, sequencing, and ongoing timely maintenance of client payers in the billing system determined by current payer/funder rules and regulations, eligibility, coverage, deductibles, copays, prior authorization requirements and processing,
  • Scheduling of client appointments with various practitioners, reviews, edits, and provides appointment reminders for clients,
  • Conducts fact finding screening and interviewing with clients via telephone and in person for client demographics, contact, and scheduling information, etc.,
  • Serves as a liaison with staff at various sites for client service issues,
  • Obtains, organizes, drafts, technical and administrative materials for public information or organizational use,
  • Completes forms, file, and records in a confidential, accurate, and timely manner,
  • Reconcile, monitor, process and complete all necessary reports, forms, invoices, billing, and logs in a timely and organized manner to meet vendor, payer, Agency, etc. deadlines and reporting requirements,
  • Maintains and audits system and client data,
  • Collects fees, collection of service billing data and correction of site report errors,
  • Clerical tasks, i.e. receives open logs and distributes incoming mail, answers phones, screens call, scans and indexes documents, processes medical records requests, input of outcomes into portals and system software, competent use of Microsoft based system and programs to maintain efficient administrative transactions within the office,
  • Participate in Talbert House mandatory trainings and meetings,
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or physician. 
  • Proficient with drawing blood, EKGs and giving injections
  • Proficient with medical terminology
  • Computer Skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • One to two years experience as a Medical Assistant
  • One year in the mental health field
