Starting Rate: $22.49
Special Requirements: Must possess a High School diploma or GED and four (4) years direct client work experience in a mental health field. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license, auto insurance and automobile. Experience working with at risk youth and their families. Bi-lingual, Spanish-speaking preferred.
Knowledge Of:
  • Working with the DSM IV and setting therapeutic goals
  • School based services
  • Crisis intervention
  • Case management, group and individual re-habilitation counseling and referral linkage
  • Cultural competency by effectively working with people differing in value systems, ethnicity, cultural backgrounds, language capabilities and disabilities
  • Santa Clara County Mental Health and MediCal paperwork and procedures strongly preferred
  • South County community resources
Ability To:
  • Provide case management services with clients and their families
  • Maintain a positive perspective in the treatment and care of emotionally and psychosocially impacted individuals and their families
  • Provide strength-based services for wellness and recovery
  • Work with clients in a clinical setting, in the community and/or in clients home
  • Ability to act calm and work successfully in a high stress work environment
  • Employ evidenced-based practices and the wellness and recovery model as appropriate to assist the client and identify issues of dual diagnosis, activities of daily living, employment • Work in a fast paced environment with good time management skills
  • Transport clients in personal vehicle
  • Evaluates clients problems, develop treatment plans and follows each case through to solutions
  • Consults, refers cases, and works actively with families, teams, other agencies and community partners
  • Prepares documentation, reports and correspondence in a timely manner as required
  • Knows and assists clients to utilize community resources
  • Manages a caseload accountably
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Performs related work, as required
Flexible work schedule may be required including evenings and/or weekends, based on client/program needs.
