Description

This position is responsible for analyzing and resolving application support tickets escalated from first-level support teams and Operations for Web and database applications.  It is also responsible for working with development teams and project developers to ensure the company’s applications are developed, tested and performing as expected. This requires an IT professional who enjoys resolving technical challenges in a time-sensitive environment supporting all business operations and maintaining positive relationships. Work must be completed efficiently and effectively to minimize application and database downtime or residual negative effects on the business.

Responsibilities

  • Assess escalated support calls to diagnose the problem

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Design to formulate solutions and options

  • Communicate with users and interested stakeholders on issue status

  • Document updates in call tracking software

  • Research code in several of the following languages: ASP.NET, VB6, VB.NET, JavaScript, C#, HTML, IIS, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and Integration Services as well as Access and Excel

  • Prioritize and resolve tickets in a timely manner

  • After-hours calls, on rotational assignment and emergent escalation as needed

  • Promote a team environment by assisting other team members with active issues

  • Work with development staff on programming standards and effective information for application support

  • Develop small or extra small projects, as prioritized and approved

 

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in an IT field

  • 1-6 years of relevant application experience

  • ASP.NET, VB6, VB.NET, C#, HTML, IIS, JavaScript, jQuery, SSIS, SSRS, Access MS SQL, Access, Excel, SharePoint, FTP, Crystal reports, Internet browsers, stored procedures/DTS, TCP/IP

  • Familiar with infrastructure, firewalls, internet access, servers, databases and file structures, and integration with back-end systems
