Job Description: 
 
A territory manager (TM) is a professional sales consultant who proactively seeks opportunities for our member-owners, leverages networks, orchestrates internal corporate resources and is able to influence decision makers with innovative and bold actions and ideas. TM’s are charged with the responsibility of satisfying the needs and requests of our member-owners.  They accomplish this through a variety of methods, leveraging the best products, programs and services available, customized for their local market and unique business needs.
 
A TM understands each member-owner’s business model and leverages relationships to help them grow their businesses. Using collaborative teams to accomplish goals, a TM challenges the member-owner to purchase the right products at the right price and time, keeping inventory levels appropriate for the market demand. TM’s are also proficient in identifying and qualifying prospective members, can overcome objections and obstacles by providing solutions and are able to close the deal quickly and efficiently.

Preferred Education & Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Business or retail experience preferably in the hardware-home improvement industry
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Proven track record of solid performance in a sales environment
  • Understanding of a member-owned business model
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Help members grow their businesses through a comprehensive offering of programs, services and products including hardlines, lumber and building materials.
  • Evaluate a member’s trade market area to help maximize market share.
  • Develop new potential store sites to maximize our penetration in the market trade areas.
  • Prospect for new business with both existing and new member-owners.
  • Plan and manage member visits to the Do it Best Corp. markets and other company events.
  • Collaborate with other divisions of Do it Best Corp. to maximize member relationships.
  • Create call plans and agendas, document call activity, and submit weekly expense reports.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times while representing the company.
  • Attend company events such as training meetings and markets.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and excellence as it relates to helping our members and Do it Best Corp. grow.
  • Adhere to all Do it Best Corp. safety policies and procedures.  
  • Satisfy all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as determined by the Do it Best Corp. management team.
  • All other duties as assigned.
