Warehouse Associate

Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Description

This position is responsible for the safety and accuracy of shipments inbound to and outbound from the Fort Wayne Warehouse. Position requires the safe use of forklifts both manual and electric. Qualified candidates will have above average problem solving skills, good range of motion, and physical attributes requiring the ability to lift a minimum of 40 - 50 lbs. on a consistent basis and from 80 – 100 lbs. occasionally.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to unloading / loading trucks, pallet / shipment preparation, trash disposal, recycling pickup, and meeting room set ups, Position may also provide assistance in other areas of the business when needed and at times may require flexibility in his or her scheduled hours. As with all of the company’s office or facility specific positions, being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition or employment and is an essential function of the position. Regular attendance is not only essential for a business to operate efficiently, but attendance and punctuality are good measures of your interest in your job and will impact your annual review.

Education and Experience
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to follow safe work instructions and safety training
  • Ability to be certified on various powered equipment
  • Ability to meet or exceed productivity standards
  • Willingness to assist other departments and functions as necessary
  • Ability to work additional hours as necessary
  • Ability to perform simple math calculations
  • Ability to meet or exceed quality standards
  • Ability to stack or re-stack items into a location manually or with a forklift
  • Ability to operate an RF barcode scanner
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate
  • Ability to adjust actions in relation to others’ action
  • Ability to manage one’s own time
  • Ability to do minor plumbing / electrical, and HVAC repair
  • Ability to provide preventative maintenance on material handling equipment

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift items ranging from 40-50lbs
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 80-100lbs
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, stoop
  • Must be able to perform work at floor level, waist level or above shoulders
