Part Time Breakfast Attendant
Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile (Part Time)
Are you a morning person?  If the answer is yes, then this is the job for you!  Must have flexible availability including weekends and holidays. The schedule is based on seniority. Shifts will be mainly mornings starting as early as 6 am. Some afternoon shifts will be scheduled based on business needs and seniority.
  • Observe and ask guests about their needs and levels of satisfaction with the food or service; describe and/or answer questions for guests about menu items; talk with guests in order to create friendly atmosphere and respond to their questions about attractions or other information in the area.
  • Greet guests with a smile and help create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests to enjoy.
  • Stock coffee, juice, milk, machines, dry items, china, glass, silver, etc.; set out chafing dishes, steam tables, heat lamps, signs and easels, flowers, newspapers, and self-service utensils.
  • Clean tables as they become available, clean up spills.
  • Replenish self-service stations as needed.
  • Assist all service personnel in any duties as requested.
  • Resolve and notify a manager immediately of any guest complaints and/or guest issues.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Perform additional tasks to include returning reusable foods to storage, cleaning and draining of all machines and equipment and assisting the Breakfast Cook as needed.
  • Make supply list for next day and complete inventory reports.
  • Attend required meetings
  • Ability to accurately report information
  • Ability to assist with various office tasks as needed.
  • Ability to scrupulously follow all Arbor and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Follow the hotel’s health and safety procedures.
  • Expresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
  • Actively listens to others.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Must have knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Relevant training and experience required such as TIPS of SERV Safe.
  • CPR and First Aid training preferred.
  • Additional language ability preferred.
