Staff Accountant
Arbor Lodging Management, a rapidly expanding hotel management company based in the Chicago West Loop area is searching for a Staff Accountant to function as lead accountant for the Director of Accounting in the corporate office. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, bank/balance sheet reconciliations, and financial report preparation. This role will have contact with hotel properties, other professional service providers, tax accountants, etc.

Responsibilities:
  1. Overall day-to-day management of financial reporting accuracy for the assigned properties
  2. Bank and other balance sheet reconciliations 
  3. Payroll reconciliations
  4. Review and approve account classifications
  5. Review the accuracy of AP and AR transactions
  6. Review G/L for any missing transactions and overall accuracy
  7. Maintain capitalization policy
  8. Assist in the preparation of budgets
  9. Support external auditors in the completing annual audits

  1. Assist in on-time delivery of accurate financial packages for the assigned properties
  2. Low error rates and overall quality of work output
  3. Motivating and effective management skills

  6. Learning and demonstration of evolving accounting and technology 
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, CPA or
    MBA a plus
  2. Hospitality or Real Estate experience a plus
  3. M3 and Hotel PMS system experience a plus
  4. Ability to self-manage tasks in a dynamic environment
  5. Self-motivated to meet deadlines and objectives
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
