The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures the levels of cleanliness meets or exceeds a 4 star / 4 diamond standard on a daily basis by ensuring that the resort unit cleaning checklist is enforced by each Guest Room Attendants / Housemen. “INSPECT WHAT YOU EXPECT” philosophy.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and develop personnel in areas of responsibility their maximum effectiveness; maintain an ongoing training program.
  • Assist in establishing safe working conditions and practices. Ensure cleanliness in all areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure that staff wear proper uniforms at all times.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors and subordinates. Ensure understanding of desired objective, communicate clearly and always display a positive attitude and motivate employees to excel.
  • Operate in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and government regulations.
  • Maintain and ensure a high level of professionalism throughout the department and staff.
  • Develop skill in the decision making process and problem solving.
  • Assist with ensuring that all staff is familiar with all emergency and fire procedures.
  • Keep the Executive Housekeeper informed of all progress and developments in relations to employees and performance and/or issues.
  • Ensure that the key sign in and sign out procedure are being followed.
  • Familiarize self with the property Housekeeping and Laundry Departments policy and procedures.
  • Perform any other tasks asked of you by the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Offer assistance to guest using their first name whenever possible.
  • Smile and greet all guests and co-workers that you come in contact with.
  • Assist in maintain “positive morale” throughout the department by demonstrating a good attitude and fair and consistent discipline practices.
  • Demonstrate proper use of all equipment and supplies at all times.
  • Maintain clean work areas at all times (i.e. room attendant carts, linen and supply closets).
  • Attend and participate in required meetings.
  • Be able to perform any responsibility of the employees that you are supervising in the event that you are needed to assist.
  • Participate in daily meeting with the Executive Housekeeper to retrieve daily updates etc.
  • Be familiar with the proper placement of furniture and amenities of the rooms.
  • Inspect all required rooms daily by utilizing daily inspection sheet.
  • Be familiar with Housekeeping Department’s opening procedures.
  • Coordinate deep cleaning rooms with the Room Attendants daily and track schedule along with the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Follow up on all out of order rooms in assigned section.
  • Ensure that all debris is removed from the property as sighted.
  • Ensure that all assigned VIP rooms are completed and inspected and that the status is relayed to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for guest and employees.
  • Ensure a good working relationship with all departments.
  • Expedite special projects as requested within the expected time frame.
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Prior Housekeeping experience in the supervisor capacity required
  • Good organizational skills and must be able to handle multiple tasks
  • Able to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must possess an extensive level of customer service
