This Sales Manager is primarily responsible for producing room nights relative to the specific market segments assigned, while also ensuring the constant maximization of both occupancy and A.D.R. or REVPAR to meet or exceed budgeted expectations. He/She will also be responsible for always exuding the highest example of professionalism and hospitality to all existing and potential clients, guest and staff.
 
PLEASE NOTE: Only candidates that have Sales experience in a Hotel Resort, strong job stability with previous companies, and local to the Central Florida market will be considered. SMERF & Association Market experience required.
 
Responsibilities:
  • To meet and/or exceed budgeted expectations relative to the assigned market segments.
  • To identify, solicit and generate bookings from the retail travel agents and consortia with Orlando-bound leisure and/ or business guests.
  • Follow up with corporate and association group leads generated by the convention and visitors bureau as assigned by the Director of Sales.
  • Utilize Sales software, to document written and verbal communications, to trace the clients files for follow-up correspondence and generate letters.
  • Attend business review meetings as required and scheduled.
  • Prospect for new business while maintaining relationships with current clients.
  • Invite travel agents to visit the resort and conduct site inspection/ tour and FAM trips when ROI is identified to benefit the resort.
  • Visit retail agencies and give the agents a power point presentation so as to familiarize them with what we have to offer.
  • Attend trade shows and participate in key feeder market cities sales blitz as directed.
  • Provide various trip reports to verify action required to book business.
  • Capture information to help build a database of clients.
  • Maintain a pro-active approach in constantly developing his/her self for potential growth opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong local presence within the community by being actively involved in various industry specific organizations, groups and social events.
  • Conduct pre-convention meetings as required with key resort team members and clients; to ensure all requirements are anticipated and exceed the guest expectations.
  • Completion of special projects as requested.
  • Maintain a safe environment for both guests and employees.
  • Maintain positive guest and employee relations in a supportive environment.
  • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing with the preparation and distribution of the annual marketing and business plan
  • Conduct market research as instructed by the DOS&M
  • Respond to the customer requests for information and collateral
  • Ship sales kits, the trade show booth, promotional items, etc to destinations advised by the sales managers and insure an on time: delivery
  • Assist with mass mail-outs including building a database
  • Create and maintain reports
  • Prepare contracts and letters of Agreement for new clients and track for completion
  • Make reservations as needed by clients
 
Qualifications
  • Must possess minimum 5- 7 years hotel sales & marketing experience.
  • SMERF experience and knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of all hotel departments.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven leadership skills, computer literate and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently.
