Are you looking for a Summer Job? Easterseals is hiring for part-time, temporary positions as a Job Coach for our Summer Youth Program, working at sites in Bulter County. Must be at least 21 years old.
Monday – Friday, 8am – 2pm
As the job coach you will coach individuals with disabilities at assigned Summer Youth job site or community employment sites by providing orientation and training, assisting with job related issues and demonstrating job functions.  Utilizes techniques such as modeling, verbal prompting, visual prompting, etc., assessing and identifying work strengths and weaknesses and assisting/supporting individuals in completing work assignments if and when they are unable to independently perform tasks. Serves as liaison for individual with community business partner site manager or supervisor, DD case managers, funding agency and others by facilitating communication.  Identifies and assists job site/employers and individuals with implementing any needed job modification. Provides transportation by driving individuals to and from work sites for employment orientation, training, and other activities as needed. Provides follow-along support to consumers by performing site visits and contacting employers by phone (as needed or when requested).
Reports to Summer Youth site on a daily basis throughout the program duration and supports individuals participating in a four week paid work internships.  Once program is completed, job coach may assist these same individuals in community employment that they obtain. 
Works as an active member of Summer Youth team and attends all Summer Youth team meetings, events, activities (including: team building days, beginning of year orientation, open houses, in service/training days).
Completes daily documentation and turns in monthly Summer Youth required coaching report into supervisor so that a full comprehensive report can be submitted to referral counselor with monthly program billing.  This report reflects individual’s performance, progress and goals.
 
 
  Minimum qualifications include:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of interventions strategies, and general principles and methods for working with people with disabilities
  • Ability to exercise patience in dealing with persons with disabilities
  • Proficient in computer software, applications and programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license & insurance & a good driving record
