Easterseals Serving Greater Cincinnati’s YouthBuild program empowers at-risk youth who lack a high school diploma, job experience, or career prospects to escape a lifetime of poverty and unemployment. The program’s game-changing approach provides individuals with the education, hands-on experience and qualifications necessary to attain a well-paid job in the construction industry. Through YouthBuild, students are empowered to succeed academically while learning the value of dedication, accountability and hard work. As part of the program’s practical training component, YouthBuild rehabs affordable housing for low-income families in the neighborhood.
 
As the Job Developer you will be part of a team that is changing the lives of at risk youth in our community by securing competitive employment in the community for individuals served in the Youth Build program. You will be responsible for developing an employer base by contacting employers to promote awareness of the program and potential qualified employees, developing and maintaining current job listings related to the individuals served career goals, educating individuals served by teaching resume writing techniques, interviewing skills, transporting individuals to employment sites and assisting with communicating with managers, completing applications, scheduling interviews and providing support through the entire interview process, keeping accurate record by completing and maintaining required documentation including case notes, Salesforce, monthly reports, intake forms, activity logs, end of month reports, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 to 6 months of job placement or sales experience, Bachelor degree in human services or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of general principles and methods of leading a job search, labor market, computer software applications and programs
  • Experience working with at risk youth, ability to exercise patience in dealing with at risk youth
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility in work schedule and job tasks
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employer contacts and  general public
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize work; problem solve; work independently demonstrating initiative
  • Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance & a good driving record
