Job Description: Sales Representative.
 
Accountable To: Chief Operating Officer
Responsive To:   Chief Operating Officer and Sales Manager
 
Primary Responsibilities and Authorities
The Sales Representative has the delegated authority from the Chief Operating Officer and Sales Manager, and overall responsibilities for maintaining sales and new sales opportunities and existing customer markets for threaded rods and U-bolts. Specific responsibilities and authorities include the following:
  • Reports directly to the Sales Manager regarding sales issues affecting the company
  • Responsible for performing and conducting contract reviews as defined in Company Procedures.
  • Responsible for monitoring daily customer satisfaction, and advises the Sales Manager of current order trends, problems, and opportunities.
  • Responsible for engaging in and coordinating day-to-day communications with the customers.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of accurate sales records and customer requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring sales orders reflect current customer requirements accurately, and the customer requirements are conveyed throughout the organization.
  • Work Order Picklists must define the product description and operation sequence necessary to meet customer or stock order requirements. Sales must define any non-standard customer specified requirement or Tolerance on the Work Order Picklist
  • Responsible for reporting to the Sale Manager, with regard to all sales issues, and meeting our sales objectives of the company.
  • Coordinates pricing activities with the Sales Manager for customer quotations and contracts.
  • Coordinates activities with the Sales Manager to resolve customer complaints
  • Coordinates activities with the Material Manager to purchase raw material to meet customer ordered quantities.
  • Coordinates activities to ship material on time to the customer.
  • Proficient in utilizing Epicor Inventory System, also utilizing Excel, and Word                        
  • Ensures that processes are delivering their intended outputs
  • Provide Leadership on the performance of the QMS and opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization
  • Ensure that the integrity of the ISO9001:2015 QMS is maintained when changes to the QMS are planned and implemented.
  • Ensure all employees have the responsibility for conformity to product requirements and have the authority to stop shipment and stop production to correct quality problems, and all potential nonconforming product is identified and contained.
  • Ensure all production operations across all shifts are staffed with personnel in charge of, or have delegated responsibility for ensuring conformity to product requirements.
  • Possess the basic understanding of threaded rods and u-bolts as it relates to the following:                                           
    • Steel grade chemistry compositions
    • Grade 5 and 8 Mechanical Properties per SAE J429
    • Threading requirements per ASME B1.1
    • Basic Understanding to find Quality and Product info on our G Drive
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to drive long distances to meet on-site with customers (out of state)
  • Must be able to fly to meet on-site with customers
  • Must be capable of performing work in varying temperatures (hot and cold) in various plant environments
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs unassisted
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • 5 or more years sales experience in steel industry; automotive parts industry
