Position Overview
The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and verification/validation of electric and electronic components for the battery management system.
 
Primary responsibilities
  • Design and release battery management electronic hardware
  • Perform engineering analysis, including DFMEA, worst case circuit analysis, thermal analysis and stress analysis
  • Support validation during DV/PV testing and specify end-of-line test
  • Plan and implement engineering development test programs
  • Create manufacturing documents and check files.
  • Work closely with manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with DFA and DFM practices.
  • Work closely with PCB vendors/suppliers to reduce cost and maximize PCB yield.
Specific Skills/Abilities
The position requires review and analysis of system requirements and executing and evaluating of designs, including supplier interaction. Must be able to balance system requirements versus technical constraints and cost targets.
  • Experience with EMC compliance testing and correction techniques
  • Experience with thermal design and analysis
  • Experience using Mentor Graphics (DxDesigner, Pads & DxDatabook)
  • Experience desired in a number of areas:
    • Familiar with IPC and automotive standards.
    • Flexible circuit layout knowledge.
    • Automotive electronics hardware design.
    • Circuit simulation and analysis using SPICE, SABER or similar tools.
    • Microprocessor based systems.
    • PCBA manufacturing process.
  • Languages: English (business fluent), German (business fluent)
Education/Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s or equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the field of automotive electronics engineering.
