Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned Research & Development Programs:
    • maintain budget
    • manage all internal and/or external customer deliverables
    • develop and maintain project timelines
    • manage assets and resources as applied to program needs
    • own and keep updated, program documentation
  • Provide leadership to a matrixed, cross-functional program team
  • Work with Finance, Supply Chain, Accounting and other departments to develop and maintain budgets
  • Track compliance to customer’s technical and commercial requirements and milestones
  • Provide weekly project status reports to management
  • Work closely with supply chain to source and manage key program suppliers
  • Maintain living “Risk Analyses” for your programs; identify and address any/all identified gaps, solution focus
  • Drive towards rapid identification and resolution of any and all engineering related performance, cost and timing issues regardless of where the issue originates
Travel up to 33 % (including international) required
  • Bachelor’s degree or further in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or scientific field related to energy storage
  • 5+ years energy storage industry experience required; lithium ion battery experience preferred
  • Clearly demonstrated program successes
  • Experience with successfully adhering to and leading a team within a program budget
  • Automotive OEM experience a plus
  • Strong technical background, lithium ion preferred, adjacent industries considered
  • Understanding of the R&D process as well as familiarity with the automotive development processes (Eg. APQP) highly desired; experience developing processes a plus
  • Ability to thrive within a rapidly changing / growing matrix organization
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
