Software Tools – Continuous Engineering Administrator
 
Description
The role of the Continuous Engineering Administrator maintains software tools for the purpose of supporting engineering teams in their work. This includes working with team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver and maintain software tools according to plan. The engineer will also follow internal process for quality control.  Software tools include configuration management tools, databases, SharePoint, engineering lifecycle tools and other custom software and reporting tools with a focus on IBM Continuous Engineering tools:
  • Classic DOORs
  • Quality Manager ( DNG)
  • Change and Configuration Management (RTC)
  • Quality Manager (RQM)
  • Rhapsody
  • RELM
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage the Continuous Engineering tools by creating and configuring project areas
  • Maintain the databases and server and support upgrades
  • Design and implement scripts to automate work products
  • Provide timelines and cost/benefit analysis to inform internal tools roadmap
  • Balance technical and business interests in a fast moving, engineering driven culture
 
Minimum Position Requirements
  • BSCS/EE or equivalent
  • 3 or more years of IBM CLM tool management (RTC, RQM, DNG, JAZZ)
  • Advanced SQL reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment with little supervision
  • Track-record of deploying production-quality software
  • Solid understanding of modern requirements development, software deployment and management techniques
  • SQL programming and tuning
  • Strong understanding of servers, network protocols and applications
 
Preferred Position Requirements
  • Programming experience in Eclipse environment, Java, Python, Go or equivalent
  • Code analysis tools experience (Mathworks Polyspace)
  • Web interface development
  • Familiarity with project change and configuration management software, such as Jira, SVN, Clear Case, Clear Quest, PVCS or Change Synergy
  • Automated Build tools experience (Jenkins, …)
 
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced development environment
  • Extended hours may occasionally be required in meet project deadlines.
