A123 Systems, LLC is a leading developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries and battery systems for the transportation and commercial markets.
 
Position Overview
This position will provide the lead role in maintaining the raw material and component inventory system. The critical aspects will be inventory accuracy, on-hand availability at minimal stocking levels and a cordial demeanor when dealing with internal customers.  The candidate will also be expected to perform the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts and supplies. There may be lifting of heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and the need to maintain the loading dock area in a neat and orderly fashion. Utilizing iPurchase/QAD and A123’s inventory Database the candidate will perform receiving, inventory and sales order shipments in QAD/EAM. 
 
Primary responsibilities
  • Oversee Inventory Management system (spreadsheet), perform audits and sustain quantities
  • Create purchase requisitions to restock inventory
  • Manage VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) system and work with VMI partner to forecast needs and resolve any issues
  • Maintain Certification for USDOT Dangerous Goods, RCRA and IATa
  • Deliver packages to internal requisitioners
  • Unload all packages and freight from vendor trucks
  • Electronically receive all incoming packages and keep organized records of packing lists
  • Perform shipping transactions in QAD/EAM (training provided)
  • Ship all packages from Waltham to global customers and A123 subsidiaries
  • Prepare shipments using Fed Ex, UPS, and various freight forwarders following all IATA/DOT standards.
  • Monitor and arrange Hazardous Material storage and disposal
  • Provide support to EH&S by performing weekly inspections of waste/recycling accumulation area
  • Maintain cleanliness of loading dock and shipping area.
  • Work with the shipping carriers/supply chain to proactively resolve customs concerns and challenges
 
Specific Skills/Abilities
The position requires:
  • USDOT Dangerous Goods, RCRA and IATA Certification (training provided)
  • iPurchase/QAD/EAM – shipping and receiving modules (training provided)
  • Computer – Word, Excel, Outlook
 
Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma
  • 2-3 years in a related field
  • Experience working in a high-tech manufacturing environment
  • Experience shipping dangerous goods
