Position Overview
The Application Engineering position supports the sales and project management teams and is a customer facing role for technical issues. He or she is also responsible for supporting the triaging of the engineering team in the development of the product to production.

Primary responsibilities
  • Ensure product requirements are driven into the design and system – Requirements Elicitation per ASPICE methodology
  • Coordinate, and prioritize the technical deliverables for engineering team tasks
  • On-site customer support for integration and troubleshooting of energy storage systems and interconnected components
  • Collaborate with program management in program reviews of hardware, software and systems
  • Support sales team as well as the customer to identify resolutions to customer requirements
  • Grow and uphold customer trust by maintaining best in class customer service
  • Prepare technical documentation for management reviews
  • Drive technical reviews with product development team and customer
  • Perform risk analysis on issues in the development of the product
  • Provide input on next generation product requirements
Specific Skills/Abilities
  • Solid problem solving and trouble-shooting skills including experience leading a triage team
  • Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Flexibility during times of change.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal, including customer interface skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experienced with Lithium Ion batteries
  • Demonstrated ability to work with electronic, software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering concepts
  • Experienced with vehicle communication systems (CAN/LIN)
  • Familiar with electronics, schematic development, ECAD, PWB manufacturing
  • Familiar with mechanical design, MCAD, mechanical durability, thermal properties, mechanical assembly
  • Able to manage cross discipline engineering issue resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, teams, tasks, and issues simultaneously
  • Knowledge of automotive standards (FMEA, DVP&R, APQP, PPAP)
  • BSEE/BSET or equivalent engineering degree
  • 5+ years of automotive engineering experience preferred
  • Battery system or hybrid industry experience preferred
