We are looking for an experienced, accountable Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to facilitate compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations and guidelines. The candidate will provide advice and instruction on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations, as well as a change agent to continually develop, deliver and improve day-to-day environmental, health & safety practices within the a warehouse production environment.  The ideal candidate will also be detail-oriented and ready to act in emergencies.
 
The goal is to establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop, deliver and drive OHS policies and programs
  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (required PPE, noise levels, use of machinery, emergency plans, etc.)
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to internal standards and State/Federal legislation (Emergency plans, MSDS, etc).
  • Develop, deliver, monitor and report on OHS training of employees and executives
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
Job Requirements
  • 5 year previous experience as Environmental, Health & Safety Manager required
  • In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures necessary
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices, MSDS, etc.
  • Experience in writing and implementing reports and policies for environmental, health & safety practices
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics to senior leadership and required venues
  • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
  • Outstanding organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present, explain and drive environmental, health & safety practices topics and initiatives
  • BS/BA in safety management, engineering or relevant field required
  • Certification in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) is highly desired, but a nationally recognized certification is acceptable (CSP, CSSP, CSHM, etc.)
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing facility is highly desired
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein in support of the company.
