SENIOR REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL

Summary of Responsibilities
 
Al. Neyer is poised to make 2019 the most profitable year in its 125-year history as we continue to build pride in real estate across the communities we call home. The Senior Real Estate Paralegal will assist with complex commercial, industrial, and multi-family real estate transactions from contract through due diligence, financing, closing and construction.
 
Essential Job Functions
 
  • Draft purchase and sale agreements, prepare critical dates memoranda and calendar follow-ups
  • Coordinate and review due diligence for a variety of transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing
  • Review of title commitments and surveys, preparation of title/survey objection letters and interface directly with title companies and surveyors to resolve any issues or discrepancies
  • Assist with preparation of construction agreements with owners and subcontractors, commercial leases, lease amendments, property management agreements and other customary agreements in connection with commercial real property
  • Prepare lease abstracts, estoppels, and subordination agreements
  • Prepare and file a variety of documents, including plats, deeds, assignments, UCC financing statements/releases, lien releases, etc.
  • Coordinate closings on a variety of transactions
  • Work closely with escrow and title agents, lender representatives, management companies and tenants
  • Follow-up on post-closing issues, including obtaining final owner’s title policies
  • Organize new entities, obtaining EIN’s, etc.
  • Interface with insurance rep to secure accurate insurance certificates for lenders
  • Interface with utility companies to resolve easement issues

Qualifications and Experience
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite (with heavy emphasis on Word and Excel)
  • 5 - 10 + years of commercial real estate experience
 
Physical Demands

Low physical effort required to sit, stand at files, bend, stoop, lift, and walk.  Maximum unassisted lift is 35 lbs.  Average lift is less than 10 lbs.  Requires ability to use a keyboard and monitor.  Also requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone.  May require some travel by car.

 
Environmental Requirements

Average inside office environment.  Average office noise levels.  No personal protective equipment is required.  Ambient temperature is between 68F and 76F.
