Summary of Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a Design-Build leader for our Raleigh market! The Vice President of Design Build is accountable for the day to day operations of the Raleigh Design-Build Group and overall performance of the projects in the assigned market.

Essential Job Functions
  • Accountable for the bottom-line profitability and growth of the Design-Build operating group in the market.
  • Lead and manage Design-Build personnel including directing, mentoring and managing career development in the market.
  • Assure that the Design-Build group meets the benchmark for quality, timeliness and value in the market.
  • Assure that the Design-Build services, its’ processes, personnel and outside consultants support the overall goals and operations of the market.
  • Assure that the company identifies and effectively responds to opportunities to design and build facilities for clients in the markets that the company serves.
  • Manage the Design-Build services to achieve increased effectiveness in estimating and delivering projects in a timely and profitable manner.  Includes review of projects before pricing to see if project will meet company goals.
  • Contribute to the company’s selling efforts by assisting the Real Estate Development and Business Development operation in creating solutions to market opportunities.
  • Negotiates construction contract terms with client or development group.
  • Assure that the company achieves high marks from our Design-Build clients on customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Contribute to, implement and monitor the progress of the corporate strategic plan specific to the market.
  • Reviewing staff levels and abilities and react to maintain a high-performance team.
Position Requirements
  • Ability to communicate professionally with others.
  • Proven leadership and management skills: creative, organized, systems-oriented and people-skilled.
  • Ability to maintain both business performance and customer service perspectives.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Construction.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction of commercial buildings, including at least five years in a management capacity.
Physical Demands
Low physical effort required to sit, stand at files, bend, stoop, lift, and walk.  Maximum unassisted lift is 35 lbs.  Average lift is less than 10 lbs.  Requires ability to use a keyboard and monitor.  Also requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone.  May require some travel by car.
Environmental Requirements
Average inside office environment.  Average office noise levels.  No personal protective equipment is required.  Ambient temperature is between 68F and 76F.
