The Engineer l - Kitchen/Laundry Mechanic at The St. Anthony, A Luxury Collection Hotel, is responsible for ensuring that the property’s kitchen and laundry equipment is mechanically maintained and kept in good operating condition with the least amount of inconvenience to employees. Responsible primarily for kitchen and laundry equipment but also any other duties as assigned.  The St. Anthony Hotel is a Marriott, Luxury Collection Hotel located in downtown San Antonio near the Riverwalk.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
 
Education & Experience: 
·          High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel/hospitality or a related field required.
·          At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
·          Trade school and/or College course work in related field helpful.
 
 Physical requirements:
·          Flexible and long hours sometimes required.  Must be able to work weekends & Holidays.
·          Heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
 
 Work environment:
·       Indoor and outdoor hotel building, facilities and structures
·       Occasional to frequent work in hotel rooms, common areas, facilities, that may require ability to work in confined and small area work spaces.
·       Outdoor work requires exposure to weather elements that may be hot, cold, wet and dry conditions.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
 
Fundamental Requirements:
 
·          Make repairs to hotels kitchen and laundry equipment, clean coils, replace motors insure all safeties are in place and in proper operation.
·          Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (i.e. gas fired ovens, stoves, slicers, boiler vessels, hot side, some cold side, gas dryers, iron and washers, etc.).
·          Take required readings on equipment.
·          Take cooler readings, insure all ice makers are cleaned in in good condition.
·          Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.
·          Perform preventative maintenance
·          Replace and repair pumps.
·          Perform plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc).
·          Understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
·          Trace and repair all types of water lines.
·          Troubleshoot and repair kitchen/laundry equipment.
·          Maintain preventive maintenance records.
·          Perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes.
·          Paint designated equipment and areas
Prepare and submit reports on all repairs
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays if/when such repairs are necessary
