JOB PURPOSE:
 
The Pricing Analyst position has responsibility for assessing and analyzing data from a variety of sources to derive insights into pricing and margin strategies.  The pricing analyst uses a number of quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze competitor pricing, assess commodity market and inflation trends, and develop pricing models to derive customer pricing recommendations.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 
  1. Work closely with sales, supply chain, operations, and finance personnel to develop and enact competitive pricing strategies.
  2. Develop in-depth pricing and margin management models with various quantitative inputs for monthly and quarterly pricing to existing co-manufacturing and private brands customers.
  3. Prepare competitive pricing analysis for new business/customer opportunities and work closely with sales and senior management to identify optimal pricing levels to secure new business and ensure appropriate margins are achieved.
  4. Analyze short-term and long-term customer margin trends and present findings and recommendations in order to drive actionable pricing strategies that align with company margin goals.
  5. Prepare and present pricing and margin management material for the monthly margin management senior management meeting.
  6. Perform detailed competitor analysis as needed.
  7. Support other accounting and financial accountabilities as assigned.
     
    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  (To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required).
     
  8. Education: Four-year college degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
  9. Experience: Three to five years prior financial or accounting experience required.Preference will be given to those with applicable experience working in a manufacturing accounting or finance environment.
  10. Previous experience with computerized ERP (JDE) system preferred.Proficiency with computerized accounting system and excellent computer skills required.
  11. Advanced, proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel required such as ability to set up functions, formulas, and pivot tables within Excel.
  12. Excellent analytic problem solving and math skills required. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality and accuracy. Must be able to present numerical data effectively and be able to read and interpret written complex financial information.
  13. Excellent Written and Oral Communication skills required.This position must be able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listens and gets clarification, demonstrates group presentation skills, and participates in meetings. They must communicate well with co-workers and management and deliver excellent customer service to build internal and external relationships.
  14. Demonstrated Planning/Organizing Skills required.Must be able to work accurately and efficiently with little or no supervision.To be successful in this position must be able to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and set achievable goals and objectives to accomplish requirements in a reasonable amount of time.
