Job Summary
The Business Development Manager – Transport Programs position will be primarily focused on the development of government opportunities and growth for Berry Aviation, Inc., specifically within transport and mobility programs for the Department of Defense (DOD) and non-DOD government entities. Secondary focus will be in the development of opportunities with potential customers requiring unique, specialized solutions.  The Business Development Manager will play a key role in supporting the development of new opportunities, as well as partnerships with other service providers.  This candidate will lead development of strategy including business solutions for pursuit of leads and opportunities with transport programs, along with identify potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming partners and maintain and track activities via Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) software.  Successful applicants must also be willing to travel domestic and abroad.
  • Support management and execution of growth plans, strategies, and capture initiatives with regards to both International & Domestic new business growth opportunities as well as re-compete and follow-on opportunities
  • Assess customer capability gaps as well as existing and emerging requirements
  • Coordinate with management and relevant stake-holders for the development of quick-response and campaign-level business-case analysis and other products as required
  • Communicate across Government Services team to ensure resources are available in support of emerging and ongoing development activities, customer engagements, and quick-response initiatives
  • Responsible for review, understanding and responding to customer inquiries, requests for information, quotes, and proposals
  • Assist with preparation, coordination, and presentation of reviews to senior leadership of the company
  • Assists with identification of relevant and qualified team members and/or subcontractors; coordination for teaming/subcontract agreements
  • Tracks, maintains, and documents development activities within CRM system.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related technical field is required. 
  • Ten years of relevant government, defense, or applicable industry experience in business development or program management.
  • Demonstrated experience in pursuit of new business opportunities, especially government services programs
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and oral) with proven abilities to write and convey strategy
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including document and spreadsheet formatting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven abilities to work effectively and build relationships with colleagues, partners, and customers
  • Project Management skills to manage multiple, concurrent projects, shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and coordinate multiple parties to achieve a common objective
  • Understanding of the Government procurement process and requirements
  • Understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and how it applies to the development of proposals
  • Prior experience with Department of Defense (DOD), Special Operations, or equivalent industry support 
  • Combat development and/or requirements development experience (desired)
  • Must be able to obtain a DOD Secret clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship
