Job Summary:
Berry Aviation, Inc. (BAI) is looking for an experienced Information Technology (IT) Leader to support and help lead senior leadership and BAI as we face aggressive growth and expansion.  Our IT Director will partner with BAI business units and functional units to bring IT solutions to bear on existing and future problems, technology, empowerment while enabling growth through innovation and thought leadership.
The successful candidate will have a solid technical background along with a track record of designing and implementing IT solutions that enable an enterprise to grow while complying with regulatory requirements and industry best practices while working within the confines of an IT budget.
  • Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
  • NIST 800-171 compliance, SharePoint Design and Implementation, RFP and ERP coordination
  • Analyze business requirements of all departments to determine and implement their technology needs
  • Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
  • Coordinate with IT manager(s) and together supervise computer and desktop technicians and other IT professionals and related contractors
  • Develop and control company IT budget and report on related expenditures
  • Assist in building relationships with internal BAI departments, vendors and creating cost-efficient IT contracts
  • Proven experience as an IT director with proven track record
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
  • Proven track record and expertise in federal security and related protocols (NIST 800-171 compliance, etc.)
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication abilities
  • MSc/MA in computer science, engineering or relevant field
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Education:  MSc/MA in IT
  • Minimum 12+ years leading (not managing) technical resources
  • Minimum 6+ years in a certified environment (FISMA, NIST, ISO, SSAE, etc.)
  • Minimum 6+ years IT leadership in a government contracting organization
  • Experience with cloud-based operations
  • Experience creating, defining, managing a budget
  • Experience transforming traditional IT into a company-wide enabler
The successful candidate  will be very knowledgeable in intra-company I.T. systems, advanced security protocols, security audit processes, wide area networks, enterprise -wide change management and having a collaborative leadership style. The idea candidate will have a solid technical background while able to manage and motivate people.  The major goal of this role is to ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the company, while developing and leading Berry Aviation through its IT transformation strategy.
  1. You will need to know and exhibit experience regarding required federal security and related protocols (NIST 800-171 compliance, etc.). 
  2. You will be in charge of a team of IT professionals and manage the company’s technology operations, governance process and the implementation of new IT systems, policies and thought leadership.
  3. You will be responsible for the growth, management, strategy and execution of Berry Aviation Inc.’s IT infrastructure.
  4. Typical job duties include:
    1. Developing and overseeing technical projects in alignment with organizational goals.
    2. Annual development, coordination and implementation on IT Roadmap
    3. Directing the effective delivery of networks, development, and disaster recovery systems and processes and
    4. Self and staff development.
  • Some overnight travel, including to remote and austere international destinations, is required.
  • This position is located at the BAI corporate headquarters in San Marcos, TX.
