Title: Truck Driver Reports To: Logistics Manager Experience / Education Requirements List the minimum education and/or experience (competencies) required to perform this job successfully; verification documents are required when degrees or certifications are stated. Should read like an advertisement for the position. Truck Drivers deliver finished products to customers at their yards or on location and haul raw materials and finished products to the company’s production facilities. Truck Drivers must possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and all other requirements to drive large, commercial vehicles in interstate commerce. Truck Drivers must have at least one (1) year of prior work experience driving a large, commercial vehicle in interstate commerce and must be able to pass a drug screen and physical. Minimal skills, knowledge and abilities include: • Must have a current Class A, CDL and a Motor Carrier Medical Examiners certificate. • Must pass a pre-employment drug test. • Must be familiar with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. • Must be proficient in the preparation and maintenance of a daily log book and mileage sheet. • Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds. • Must be able to operate a forklift. • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding • Truck Drivers driving a truck with a boom must be certified in the use of a crane. • Must dress professionally and cleanly so that they present a positive impression of the company to customers and vendors. Duties and Responsibilities List the duties and responsibilities required of this job position; include applicable leadership responsibilities. • Deliver finished products to customers and other company locations. • Pickup and haul raw materials from the company vendors. • Hauls trash dumpsters to the land fill. • Assists in the unloading of product at customer locations. • If delivering multi-part tanks, assists in the positioning tank pieces and may have to assist glassing and assembly of the tank parts. • Preparation and maintenance of accurate daily log book and mileage sheets. • Preparation and timely submission of accurate expense reports and supporting receipts. • Responsible for inspecting their vehicle, trailer and load to insure safe and efficient operation. • Responsible for insuring that their assigned vehicle is properly maintained and repaired and for notifying the company shop and maintenance manager when repairs or maintenance are needed. • Responsible for insuring that their vehicle and trailer are properly serviced and lubed at proper intervals and checks and keeps all fluids at their proper level. • Operation of a forklift for loading and loading purposes. • Expected to assist other company truck drivers in the loading and unloading of their vehicles. • Truck Drivers driving a boom truck are responsible for operating the crane on their vehicle for loading and unload purposes. • Work in the weld shop and on the company grounds, as required, when not busy with Truck Driving duties. • Must dress professionally and maintain a clean appearance such that they present a positive impression of the company to customers and vendors • Performs other duties as required by company management.
