The Production Control Manager schedules the activities of the plant floor and plans, schedules and coordinates production activities to fill sales orders, meet inventory requirements and deliver manufactured products in a timely manner. The Production Control Manager shall possess a Bachelor’s degree in a business, science or engineering related field of study or prior relevant business management experience in a manufacturing company. The Production Control Manager shall have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory and/or managerial experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum skills, knowledge and ability requirements include:
Must have a thorough knowledge of all steel manufacturing methods, techniques and related equipment.
Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Must be and expert in welding processes.
Must have complete knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.
Must be highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently.
Must have strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
Will be computer literate, particularly in shop floor control, production planning and inventory control applications.
Duties and Responsibilities

Develops and communicates the production schedule for all customer sales orders and stock orders.
Works closely with the sales force to communicate product availability and anticipated delivery times.
Works closely with the sales force to insure that product drawings are completed and approved on a timely basis.
Works closely with the Logistics Manager to insure that customer orders are shipped on a timely basis.
Works closely with the Billing Clerk to insure that customer billing is completed in a timely and accurate fashion.
Manages the CAD Designer and Draftsman to insure that all production orders have accurate supporting drawings and that drawings of stock products are accurate.
Coordinates and conducts semi-annual tag inventory of finished tanks.
Assists Plant Director in managing production operations and related supporting functions.
Manages special projects as directed by Director of Operations.
