Assistant Teacher

Provide continuous supervision and interaction with the children and to plan and participate in activities for small groups on a daily basis at a Spanish Immersion preschool under the supervision of lead teacher.

Essential Duties
  1. Arrive promptly and remain for the specified time.
  2. Supervise children constantly, never leaving them unattended.
  3. Assist children when necessary with hygiene needs.
  4. Assist children with assignments and activities.
  5. Assist the lead teacher with providing all daily services and reports.
  6. Coordinate planned activities as determined by the lead teacher.
  7. Provide assistance in distributing snacks, supplies, etc.
  8. Refer serious discipline problems to the lead teacher.
  9. Attend all staff meetings and training sessions related to program.

Minimum requirements
  1. Native or near-native Spanish speaking
  2. High School Diploma
  3. Possess good oral and written communication skills
  4. Ability to build positive relationships with students and parents of students in the program
  5. Possess knowledge of the physical, mental, and emotional development of young children
  6. Certification in Red Cross first aid and CPR/AED (We can help you get this)
  7. Have a positive attitude toward working with young children and teammates
  8. Meet state requirements for position
