Covina Animal Hospital is a six doctor general practice serving cats and dogs. We are a growing practice with a mission of delivering only the highest quality veterinary care and customer service. This position seeks applicants that genuinely care for people and the well being of pets. A Veterinary Receptionist must be reliable, have effective communication with clients/team members, and demonstrate compassion for pets and their owners. Proper training and career development will be provided so that the applicant can succeed and grow in our fast-paced environment. 

  • MUST have prior experience in the veterinary field. If your experience is limited, please explain in your cover letter why you would be an excellent candidate.
  • Strong working knowledge of general pet wellness (understand vaccines, heartworm prevention, spay/neutering, etc.).
  • MUST be willing and able to have a background check.
  • Strong understanding of computers and the ability to type.
BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION (includes but is not limited to):
  • Delivering an exceptional client experience.
  • Assisting the doctors and technicians in educating clients on optimal pet health care.
  • Answering telephone calls, emails, and in-person questions.
  • Preparing medical records.
  • Multitasking between multiple duties.
  • Scheduling appointments and collecting payment for services.
  • Basic cleaning and maintenance of the front desk/lobby (sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc.).
  • Paid vacation time, sick leave, and major holidays.
