Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Food Services Supervisors, the Food Service Worker performs a variety of food services, including serving food to patients, employees and visitors.  Also is responsible for the clean‑up and stocking of the cafeteria and food preparation areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains serving line in a clean, neat and organized manner.
  • Serves hot and cold food on serving lines to visitors and employees.
  • Prepares food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
  • Prepares and delivers items as requested by patient care units or patients.
  • Maintains cleanliness of cafeteria throughout the day using approved procedures.
  • Puts away stock inventory; notifies supervisor when stock item needs ordered.
  • Performs scheduled cleaning duties and additional cleaning duties as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Maintains a good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
  • Treats patients/families/visitors with respect and dignity.
  • Observes infection control practices at all times; processes food items according to safe food handling procedures.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, and handle conflict.
  • Operates equipment safely and correctly.
$10.50 -12.50/DOE
