Global Financial Analyst
Position Description:
 
This financial analyst will support the Global Business Development organization, as well as the existing domestic US Swanson business.  The financial analyst will play a key role in supporting the finance/accounting department in forecasting, budgeting, monthly reporting and ad hoc projects.  The financial analyst will have direct exposure to senior leadership team and assisting in the development of new markets.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Support the Global Business Development organization through new market analysis, forecasting, and planning.
  • Responsible for conducting routine variance analysis against plan, forecast and prior period actuals for functional teams
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual operating plan and monthly forecast process by developing budgeting tools
  • Monitor and report key financial metrics on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial presentations
  • Ability to be a contributor to implementation and transformation project teams with the ability to hit project deadlines, provide necessary project documentation and communicate valuable insight/information to ensure the success of the project
  • Support monthly reporting, forecast, and annual budget processes
  • Assist in preparing the monthly and quarterly performance package and provide an analysis of variances to current plan
  • Assist in the design of systems and processes to gather and report business critical information
  • Maintain high-level of knowledge regarding the company’s products and plans
  • Provide Ad Hoc reports and analysis on both financial and non-financial data on an as needed basis
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA in Accounting or Finance
  • Prior experience in an FP&A or Financial Analyst role
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to step back and analyze business impact
  • Willingness to dig into details and analyze variances and trends
  • Excellent financial modeling skills
  • Strong overall business skills; he/she helps to develop solutions to broad business issues
  • Superior quantitative and analytical capabilities with Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Prior experience in financial reporting systems a plus.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Cross functional mindset with ability to work as part of a team
