Job Overview
The Senior Software Engineer is a recognized subject-matter expert with extensive experience in the field of software development, is a leader among team members, and carries major design and analysis responsibility on the project. The Senior Software Engineer oversees the technical design, development, and implementation for major software development projects, serves as the go-to technical resource for the development team, drives discussions that lead to project improvements, keeps abreast of emerging technologies, and works with team lead or project manager to define architecture requirements and establish design standards.
 
PLEASE NOTE: This position requires an ACTIVE Clearance Level of TS/SCI with Polygraph. To be considered for this position, you MUST have an ACTIVE Clearance Level of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
 
Education, Certification & Minimum Experience
  • Minimum 11 years of experience
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Attributes
  • Expert knowledge of programming languages such as, but not limited to, Java, C, .Net, SQL, C++, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, and HTML.
  • Expert knowledge of software development tools and the software development life cycle
  • In-depth technical knowledge of hardware, networks and operating systems
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
  • Strong testing / debugging skills and experience with debugging tools
  • Good understanding of application architecture
  • Knowledge of web platforms
  • Experience with database management system software
  • Able to analyze both the business and technical requirements and develop design solutions to meet those needs
  • Excellent problem-solving & analytical skills
  • Excellent understanding of customer organization’s goals and objectives
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into understandable development roadmap
  • Proven ability and willingness to support and develop software engineers by providing advice and coaching, and recommending educational opportunities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management skills to plan and monitor the progress of software development through the design, programming and testing phases so that programs are ready for planned release dates
  • Active leader in problem-solving and technical discussions
  • Professionalism in appearance and work habits
