Research Associate- PhD Required
 
The research associate will support the development of new analytical methods and assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of current analytical procedures. This position includes analytical standard preparation, method development and validation. The research associate will work in the research and development team to achieve reporting deadlines.
 
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
 
Minimum Education:
• PhD Required-   Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology or Medical Laboratory Sciences
• Medical technologist certification preferred
 
Required Experience:
• Industrial/clinical laboratory experience
• Mass spectrometry experience especially LC-MS/MS required
• Hands on experience with triple quad mass spectrometry
• Minimum 1-year laboratory experience
 
Required Skills:
• Consummate laboratory skills; especially in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment
• Exudes professionalism at all times
• Great interpersonal skills – works well with others
• Ability to effectively communicate results
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Must have good organizational skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and BASIC DUTIES 
 
•Maintain schedule of projects and timelines
•Simultaneously handle method development and routine sample analysis projects
•Coordinate study activities to ensure efficiency and quality
•Pro-active, strategic project planning and organization
•Validate unique scientific methods, assays, techniques, reports, etc
• Manage multiple projects at the same time
• Evaluate significance of data and report findings
• Prepare Study summaries and/or reports
