Linux Systems Administrator
We’re a smart, growing team tackling big problems. Natera’s mission is to give couples the best chance of having a healthy child and we need your help to bring the latest technology in genetics together with advanced signal processing and statistics.
We are looking for a Linux guru interested in cloud and cluster computing and not afraid of Windows. As a diagnostic laboratory, we collect a massive amount of complex data from patients and customers worldwide. As a research organization, we need tools for agile data access. As a growing business, we need back-office tools that scale. We need someone who can help in all these areas.
Your initial responsibilities will be to:
•Expand and maintain our new compute cluster, and work with partners to expand to the cloud
•Support web application deployments
•Improve on internal network, file sharing, backup and security infrastructure
•Share help desk requests with IT team
•Deploy tools for research and developers
Skills & Requirements
•4 years of Linux admin experience (Ubuntu in particular)
•2 years of experience with VMware ESXi 4.x and 5.x
•Atlassian stack experience helpful
•Windows admin experience, including Active Directory helpful
•Must know how to script in language other than bash (e.g. python, perl)
•Understanding of network protocols (you should know the difference between TCP, UDP, and ICMP)
•Know how to find system bottlenecks in Linux (Is a process IO, memory, or CPU limited?)
•BS in Computer Science or equivalent
•Superlative trouble shooting skills
•Self-motivated, and detail oriented
•Familiarity with provisioning systems a plus
•Experience with virtualization a plus
