Information Technology Programmer Analyst
Performs systems design and analysis. In conjunction with new development, modifications, and maintenance programming (Following Department Standards) by performing the following duties.
1.Designs, specifies, configures, installs, and maintains hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, and printers.
2.Ability to work with other departments and I.T. to solve computer (hardware/software) problems. Assist with system solutions consistent with organizational objectives.
3.The ability to perform analytical programming development and testing in the environment selected by Coastal Pet (Following department standards).
4.Installs, tests and validates hardware/software upgrades.
5.Recognizes new developments in information technology, evaluates technology for functional use within the organization, make recommendations.
6.Assist with development of policies and procedures related to software acquisition, use, support, programming, security, and backup.
7.Trains users on software and equipment usage.
8.Assists with project management with I.T. Manager and department managers, establish needs analysis for hardware/software requests, assignment of proper priority. Design/development specifications, creates project plans, and if request requires inhouse development, contract work, or should be purchased. Also determine validation requirements and time lines to complete project on ontime and within budget.
9.Assist with the development of I.T. disaster recovery process and procedures for information systems. Support departmental planning and implementing of security.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of servers, operating system environments, security processes, desktop applications (Ex. Office), server applications,
Internet/Intranet/Email, communications, AS/400, printing/faxing, ERP Business Applications (System21/Varsity), Programming using RPG IV, ILE, SQL, and HTML, XML, addition software packages ROBOT, See/Change, Lotus Notes. Analysis Skills, good business knowledge, and disaster recovery knowledge.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
