  1. GetInsured State-based Exchange, which helps states establish health insurance exchanges mandated by the Affordable Care Act. GetInsured provides states with comprehensive software and support services, designed to function independently or to be integrated with health care and IT systems. Having served millions on the individual market, our capabilities are tried and tested. In addition, our Silicon Valley heritage enables us to bring quick and agile deployment to State initiatives. 
  2., our consumer business, is a leading online tool where individuals, families and small businesses can compare and shop for health insurance.  We serve over 1 million Americans each year, which are able to compare over 12,000 major commercial medical plans directly from our site.
We are seeking a self-motivated Training & Development Manager to work from our Mountain View, CA Headquarters.  As a GetInsured “Training & Development Manager” you will join a team of individuals who own every aspect of internal/external training development and delivery.   Prior experience and success in building sales and customer service training curricula, with a focus on customer experience will provide you with the groundwork to drive success.

What would you own?
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and product/program managers in order to fully understand their goals & objectives, with this knowledge along with identifying gaps in the learning you will develop specialized curricula for sales, product, operations and service.
  • You will work intricately with our state-based health exchange (SHIX) project teams to onboard new state-based Insurance exchanges (SBEs) and work to train on the functionality of our proprietary SBE portal implementation.  
  • You will study existing curricula for state-based marketplaces to benchmark best practices. You will build training materials for health insurance brokers/agents working in states served by GetInsured’s state-based marketplace software – including sales, product functionality, operations and service.
  • You will recommend, learn and embrace new and exciting instructional technologies & methods aimed at bringing the content to life for the learner(s), no matter the learning style.

  • Your gregarious and social nature will allow you to fully engage a classroom of new health insurance brokers/agents to introduce them to all the changes sparked by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) a.k.a Obamacare.
  • Your comfort, excitement and passion for creating, developing and delivering training classes and workshops, whether face-to-face or via cutting-edge web-based technologies are essential to the success of GetInsured, its employees and its partners.
    What you need to bring?
  • A college degree or equivalent work experience. (A Bachelor’s degree is not necessarily a prerequisite to be considered for the position – tell me and show me why “you” are the best candidate)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years success in corporate face-to-face facilitation and/or other training capacity.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience creating and developing training materials using sound instructional design models, e.g. ADDIE, ARCS, Dick & Carey, RID, Kemp methods etc.
  • Experience and comfort-ability factor using Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and other yet-to-be determined & purchased instructional design and development tools/applications
  • Past history developing training materials from Participant and Leader Guides, job aids, blended-learning including certifications/assessments and presentation materials.  Demonstrated experience and success in creating web-based training courses (conception to implementation) and stand-alone online assessments including, experience with story boarding tools including basic video creation and editing.
  • Your critical thinking skills and the drive to envision creative possibilities. Additionally, you ability to focus, execute, and keep the learner always at the forefront of your mind, whether developing curricula, facilitating a face-to-face workshop or leading a remote/online training webinar.
  • Consistent track record of success and achievement, with the ability to share those “lessons learned” with your co-workers, trainees and leadership.
