Software Engineers - Kid's Educational Mobile Apps

Duck Duck Moose is looking for Software Engineers to develop award winning games for children.

As a Software Engineer you will have a hand in helping to redefine the way a whole new generation of children learn and interact with media. You will assist in every aspect of development from idea creation through launch. You will be involved in the ideation, and concepting, as well as the development for our growing suite of award-winning iPhone, iPad and Android apps.

Duck Duck Moose is an award-winning creator of educational children’s software applications, founded with the mission of revolutionizing how children learn, play, and imagine on mobile devices. Over the past 4 years, we have built a strong brand by marrying beautiful visual design, intuitive touch interactions and high-quality original music. Our apps have been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, USA Today, MSNBC, The Today Show, and American Public Radio.

We are backed with $7M in growth funding from two leading Silicon Valley venture capital firms, Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Stanford University.

Duck Duck Moose values creativity and collaboration, requiring that this role be located in our office in San Mateo, California.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science
  • 2 years of client, mobile, or game programming experience.
  • Proficiency in C++.
  • iOS experience a plus.
  • A strong passion for engineering and creativity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Why Duck Duck Moose?
We have a fun dynamic, collaborative team that doesn't take itself too seriously (we build things for kids after all). We keep a well-stocked kitchen with plenty of snacks. We have a reigning ping pong champion and need some new competitors to give him a run for his money!

Approaching 3 million paid app downloads, Duck Duck Moose has become one of the industry's most popular designers of quality educational children's apps. All 16 of Duck Duck Moose’s apps have earned and sustained top rankings in the iTunes stores, and they have received dozens of awards, including Parents’ Choice awards for all 15 titles, 14 Children’s Technology Review Editor’s Choice Awards, and a KAPi award for the “Best Children’s App” at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show.
