HX5 is seeking qualified applicants to serve as the Senior Software Engineer at Schriever AFB.
The Software Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency on the IRES contract at Schriever AFB. This individual will analyze requirements, evaluate software architectures, and design software architectures. They will design, develop, and Operate & Maintain (O&M) software applications for the purposes of information sharing, asset tracking, process improvement, and automation.
The engineer will integrate Government Off-The-Shelf and Commercial Off-The-Shelf products into the MDA infrastructure.  They will develop and maintain applications using .NET/ C#, JavaScript, Visual Studio, Active Directory, PKI, and SQL Server databases. This person will write software development and security standards, as well as provide Tier III support for select applications.
This individual will gather and document customer requirements for applications, recommend best solutions, and implement approved solutions. They will research new technologies, evaluate products, write processes and documentation, perform training as needed, and mentor other software developers. Additionally, they will lead software development projects.
This position may require after-hours maintenance support, as well as provide O&M support for select COTS/GOTS applications.  Periodic on-call support will be required.
Experience and Knowledge
  • A High School diploma (or GED) and 12 years general experience or an Associate’s degree and 10 years general experience or a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years general experience or a Master’s degree and 6 years’ experience
  • Requires 6 years directly related experience
  • Full software life cycle development experience including: requirements, design, implementation, and documentation
  • Four years’ experience in dynamic web application design and development
  • Experience with several of the following:
    • Microsoft ASP.NET, Model View Controller (MVC) Architecture C#, HTML, JavaScript, PowerShell, MS Windows 2008/2012/2016 server operating systems, MS SQL Server 2008/2014, IIS Administration, MS Visual Studio, MS Team Foundation Server, BMC Remedy ARS or similar customer support ticketing systems
    •  Change management support tools and SharePoint development to include .NET Language-Integrated Query (LINQ)
  • An understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes
  • Experience developing secure software and mitigating vulnerabilities
  • Candidate must possess a CompTIA Security+ certification or a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
  • Must have a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Must be able to travel 25%; this may include air travel
*Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance by time of start
**Must be a US Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation
  • Familiarity with the Missile Defense Agency and BMDS programs
  • Experience developing applications that interact with MS Active Directory (AD)
  • Experience administering and configuring MS SharePoint 2010 and later
  • Experience developing web parts for SharePoint 
  • Experience developing secure applications that are compliant with DISA Security and Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) 
  • Experience using Fortify 360 or similar tools, for source code analysis
  • Experience using WebInspect or similar external security analysis tools
  • Knowledge of the IT Services NetOps reporting process 
  • Skilled in software development life-cycle, CM, and CMMI
