You can help us build a great team. We are seeking experienced long-term care CNAs, LPNs, and RNs to provide care for our residents.  
 
Responsibilities:
  • RN Supervisor directs the functions of the nursing staff (RNs, LPNs and CNA's for the SNF (and AL on weekends) to include but not limited to: ensure compliance with all current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern long term care facilities; ensure work assignments are performed within acceptable nursing standards; make reports/recommendations concerning the activities of staff
  • RN Supervisor conducts multiple rounds of both the SNF (and AL on weekends) addressing any issues or needs of residents, families, or staff
  • RN Supervisor ensures appropriate staffing levels during the weekend, utilizes agency when necessary to meet the needs of the residents and State regulatory requirements
  • RN Supervisor creates detailed reports chronicling the weekend’s events (including staff, resident, plan of care issues, incidents, etc.) to DON, Assisted Living Manager, and Health Pavilion Administrator
  • RN Supervisor works closely with Attending Physician reporting concerns, changes, or issues with plan of care
  • RN Supervisor maintains the Standard of Practice for Medication Administration as set forth by nursing governing bodies
  • RN Supervisor receives telephone orders from physicians and record on the MAR
  • RN Supervisor assures that appropriate, informative, and descriptive documentation/medical records are maintained to include but not limited to: chart all accident/incidents involving residents and notify physician; chart resident’s admission, transfer and/or discharge; transcribe physician’s orders to resident charts, medications sheets and treatment/care plans; document unauthorized discharges in accordance with established department procedures; report all discrepancies noted concerning established resident care to DON to ensure that the nurses' notes reflect that the care plan is being followed
  • RN Supervisor coordinates nursing services portion of MDS and Member Care Plans/Discharge Plans with other involved departments
  • RN Supervisor ensures that narcotic records are accurate and notify DON of any discrepancies
  • RN Supervisor administers professional nursing services to include but not limited to: obtain sputum, urine, and other lab tests as ordered; take and record TPR and blood pressure; tube feeding; suction; apply and change dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags; range of motion exercises; care of dying
  • RN Supervisor participates in the orientation of new resident/family members to the Health Care Center; continue to meet with resident/family members as necessary
  • RN Supervisor monitors seriously ill residents as necessary; notify the resident’s attending physician and next of kin when there is an acute change in the resident’s condition
  • RN Supervisor assists employees in solving questions and problems as needed as requested
  • RN Supervisor assists other employees in lifting and/or carrying unusually large or heavy objects each shift in a manner that complies with company safety procedures
  • RN Supervisor effectively communicates with residents, families, and Health Pavilion Staff
  • RN Supervisor recognizes a change in a resident’s condition, acts appropriately to these changes, facilitating needed care
  • RN Supervisor communicates effectively in writing in patient records
  • RN Supervisor sets up and pass medications, observing the 5 rights of medication administration-Observes residents for drug effects/interactions-Order medications as needed, per pharmacy protocols
  • RN Supervisor greets all new residents, completes admission paperwork, including admissions intake form
  • RN Supervisor facilitates timely discharges from the Skilled Nursing, providing written and verbal information to receiving facility or home care as needed
  • RN Supervisor attends and participate in continuing education programs designed to keep you abreast of changes as well as to maintain your license on a current status
  • RN Supervisor attend department, in-service, and company meetings as scheduled
  • RN Supervisor maintains confidentiality of members’ PHI (Protected Health Information) and medical records information as well
  • This position is classified as a level 4 in the ePhi Access Group levels.
  • This position is an essential role and the incumbent may be required to work during emergency situations including natural disasters
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
  • Two years of nursing experience in similar setting is preferred; three years of supervisory experience required
  • Ability to work with geriatric residents, memory impaired individuals, and groups
  • Ability to work closely with professional and non-professional staff members
  • Demonstrates effective supervisory, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates skills and abilities in clinical and administrative areas including ability to work with limited supervision and to make decisions based on established policies and procedures
  • This individual will need to be empathetic, energetic, and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population
  • All applicants must successfully pass a drug screen and Level II background check.
