Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Management Information Systems
January or August 2019
Dominican University seeks applicants for a tenure-track joint faculty position in Computer Science, within the Rosary College of Arts and Sciences, and in Management Information Systems (MIS) / Data Analytics, within the Brennan School of Business to begin January or August 2019, depending on candidate availability. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, data analytics and information systems, including new course development in the faculty member’s area of expertise. Other responsibilities include advising students, maintaining an active research agenda, and service on university and college level committees.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching at all levels, as well as scholarship and continuing professional development. All faculty members are expected to participate in University life and governance.
Required qualifications: A doctoral degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline at the time of appointment, and excellent classroom and interpersonal skills. ABD candidates will be considered.
Preferred qualifications: Previous teaching experience, previous software development experience, a record of research through publications and conference presentations, and a familiarity with hybrid and fully online educational delivery formats. Evidence of experience in teaching students of diverse backgrounds is preferred.
