Admission Counselor and Coordinator of Campus Events
FLSA STATUS: Exempt (Salaried)
DEPARTMENT: Office of Undergraduate Admission
REPORTS TO: The AVP for Undergraduate Enrollment
JOB STATUS: Full-time (at least 37.5 hours per week)

PRIMARY PURPOSE/POSITION SUMMARY:
Serve as a member of Undergraduate Admission team to assist in achieving freshman and transfer enrollment goals. This individual is responsible for coordinating campus events for new undergraduate students, managing an assigned territory, and participating in activities involving student recruitment.

JOB COMPONENTS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Represent the University at high school visits and college fairs; strengthen and develop relationships with high school counselors.
  2. Recruit prospective students from an assigned territory.
  3. Conduct campus visit appointments to counsel prospective students and their families on general admission and financial aid information and processes.
  4. Present estimated and official financial aid awards to students and parents to ensure they understand the award and their financial responsibility.
  5. Coordinate and manage all aspects of undergraduate admission-sponsored events and effectively communicate with the various university departments that participate.
  6. Hire, train, and supervise campus event intern.
  7. Hire, train, and supervise student ambassadors.
  8. Oversee campus event and group visit policies and procedures.
  9. Perform other duties as requested, delegated or assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
All qualifications are required unless otherwise indicated.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational, presentation and communication skills
  • Knowledge and appreciation of Dominican University’s programs and offerings
  • Ability to effectively use technology to communicate with students and maintain an actionable database for the office (Microsoft Office and CRM)
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Enrollment management and/or event planning experience preferred
