A Student Development Ambassador/ Student Phonathon Caller is responsible for conducting fundraising calls to Dominican University alumni. This position secures annual donations to support areas of need such as scholarships, research programs, enhancements to or the creation of new learning spaces on-campus and more.
 
Students are the best ambassadors to talk about the student experience - because they're living it!
 
Qualifications: Student Development Officers must be reliable, energetic, articulate communicators and work well within a group setting. The ideal student is enthusiastic, conversant and involved with and about Dominican University. 
 
Working with the Student Development Officer team is a great opportunity to improve your communication, fundraising, networking and public relations skills for life after Dominican.  Previous fundraising, telemarketing or sales experience is a plus, but not a requirement for employment consideration

Responsibilities and Expectations:
  • Must be able to speak and communicate in a very clear and concise manner over the telephone
  • Commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per week
  • Serve as an ambassador by establishing an open and engaging line of communication between Dominican and its supporters
  • Contact alumni to connect and record their experiences
  • Confirm and update address and employment information
  • Thank for previous support
  • Solicit support for the Annual Fund for Dominican
  • Keep alumni and friends connected and informed about current events and campus improvements as well as the status of Dominican’s campaign
  • Arrive on time with a positive attitude and be prepared to work scheduled calling shifts
  • Demonstrate an ability to work well individually and in a team setting  
  • Flexible, dedicated and results oriented 
  • Be knowledgeable about Dominican University and its colleges
  • Keep informed about University campus events and news items
  • Participate in required trainings
