--Service Technician – Heavy Equipment Mechanic--

--Service Technician – Heavy Equipment Mechanic--
 
Our Service Technician is an important role at VLP. We are looking for someone who can cheerfully diagnose, repair and maintain our five separate lines of construction and agriculture equipment. This person should have a history the construction industry, equipment repair, agriculture repairs, and hydraulic, or electric Repairs. Some of the specific roles and responsibilities are:
  • Diagnose and Repair / maintain Case, Takeuchi and other heavy equipment as assigned.
  • Work with parts department and supervisors to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Research repair procedures and parts, both in written form and on computer.
  • Duties may include the safe operation of a motor vehicle to and from customer work sites which would require a current driver license and insurance.

  • High school equivalency, vocational degree preferred.
  • Must be able to use personal hand tools onsite.
  • Basic experience: 1-2 years of mechanic experience or vocational training in hydraulic / diesel technology.
  • Intermediate experience: 3-5 years of construction / agricultural mechanic experience.
  • Advanced experience: 6+ years of construction / agricultural mechanic experience.
  • Ability to participate in weekend work schedules and overtime when necessary.
  • Frequent climbing of steps up to approximately 36”.
  • Frequent maneuvering and lifting of approximately 100+ pounds.
  • Humility, Honesty, Accountability, Innovation, and Respect.
  • This is a union position and the candidate must join Teamsters Local 541
